On my return to New York City from a Works Seminar in Connecticut, I found myself lumbered with a heavy holdall as I stepped off the train at Grand Central Station.
With an evening flight to catch later that day, I realised my predicament; a whole day in Manhattan with a heavy companion by my side!
Now, unwilling to carry this burden with me all day, I decided to put my arms through the bag's handles and carry the load on my back. What transpired was 6 solid hours of lugging 30kg on my back, with handles cutting into my shoulders in the New York heat.

Had I known at 10am that morning what a hard, uncomfortable task it was going to be, I would probably have given Manhattan sidewalking a miss, but with nowhere to store my bag and an absent girlfriend to surprise, I accepted my situation and faced it head on.
Suffice to say, I made it to Tiffany's, walked a total of 30 blocks and kept my spirits up by telling myself I would lose this 'excess weight' in time.
Can you see where I'm going with this one??
